It's usually station wagons and mini vans that have a car top carrier, if you own a regular sedan and need more room for your junk, this is a pretty easy affair, most car top carriers can be easily modified to fit whatever size roof you have by simply taking the carrier apart, cutting the rails to size, and putting it back together again, in this case the car has no drip rails so the usual roof rack won't clamp on, the carrier is from an old station wagon, it's length needed to be shortened by about 18", it's width by only an inch. What makes this installation really easy is this fancy tool, it's called a Nutsert, aka Klik Threads, if you've never seen these before it's basically a rivet but in place of the usual pull pin you have threads, with these you don't even have to pull the headliner to install the car top carrier, just drill the holes, pop the nutserts in place and screw it down.
