After looking this bike over it appears it's never been owned by anyone who ever turned a wrench, which is good cause none of the fasteners are rounded off or chewed up, the engine has never been pulled apart and messed with, but it's also never seen a garage or regular maintenance, a bike this nice should never have an owner who won't even take a garden hose to it after a ride.
Covered in ten year old mud and parts held on with wire. bike is actually in much better shape than it looks. Looks a little better after a scrub. shifter and kickstart lever rubbers show very little wear.Because of that massive exhaust pipe on the left side, the kickstand ends up on the right side of the bike.
Has a left side kick starter like the old Bultacos.
Exhause pipe runs under the engine and has no dents !
Steering head bearings are offset and allow you to adjust the fork angle from 25 to 31 degrees.
Previous owner included a factory bombardier manual an inch thick, straight from Quebec.

First things first of course, clean er up, pull off the carb and get it spotless, you'll see in the pics all the crud in the fueltap sediment bowl ! make sure the oil injection system is working right. Drain and flush out all the fluids, lube up the cables, grease the brake cams and pivots, all the usual stuff..
Compression is showing 156 lbs, loads of Spark !!!Looks like someone got creative and made an air filter out of old foam ! ??Found this in the fueltap sediment bowl Not sure how long engine has been sucking in dust and dirt cause of this 4" gaping hole in the carb to airbox boot, but grit showed up in the main jet and mixing tube, idle jet was clogged shut too.Oil injector pump is made by Mikuni.

A little elbow grease and the rims didn't come out to bad, for a 31 year old ungaraged bike.

The bike will run if bumpstarted but only fired up once using the kickstarter and then only ran for a short while. I talked to a guy named Al Roberts, a Can Am pro, I sent him the specs after I "ohmed" the coil and he says I need a charging coil, thats (3) in the pic below, these can't be bought and have to be rewound, so Al gave me the number of a guy down in the states named Jerry at JH Rewind. JH Rewind want $ 120 U.S to rewind the charging coil. I found another place in Quebec called RM Stator who will do the job for $ 50.00 a coil.
