Before I bought this MC5 my all time favorite front tire was the Metzeler Unicross, until the side knobs started tearing and I was left looking for another quality brand tire that would hold up, this was on a trail ridden 220lb RM250. now many years later I have a 380lb XT600, I chose the MC5 hoping the elongated side knobs meant the tearing problem was fixed so I gave Metzeler another try, the first few rides it felt skittery and I didn't like it much but after 4000km I'm used to it, as the photos show the side knob tearing is still a problem so again I'm thinking of another brand change, but considering how heavy this bike is and the kind of terrain I ride, lots of rock and shale, the MC5 didn't do too bad, especially after so many punishing rim bending hits that never left me with a flat !Metzeler MC5 80/100 - 21 with 4000+km 18 to 22 psi 99% dirt.
