Arrow 72034PD. 95 to 2001 XT600Es.
Ad from Ebay.
Yamaha XT600E Arrow Can in vgc, few light scratches but no dents or dings.
I believe this part number to be
Arrow 72034PD it will fit all XT600E's with the two rear mounting fitments, mine was a 3TB from 1998, according to arrow this will fit all 95-01 bikes but may well fit others, basically the bike is the same from the entire 600E range but please check as I cannot refund for non fitment.
This is a road legal exhaust and has passed MOT's whilst it has been fitted to my bike, it really releases the big thumper sound and gives a big boost to the mid range, it can be changed in under 1 minute from the standard pipe, if you are local you are more than welcome to collect or try it on your bike, with cash in my hand for obvious reasons!!!!!
These sell for over £200 new so grab a bargain and unleash the power in your XT
Any questions please ask away
Q: hi please could tell me what the distance is between the two top mounting bolt holes regards phil 12-Jan-09
A: Hi Phil hole centres are 185mm apart, it is a straight swap for the standard pipe, it is about a 1/3rd of the weight of the standard pipe.

Hi, I've fitted Motad downpipes and
Arrow can on my 2002 (4PT) XT I wanted to get over the rust problem, as I live near the coast, it was a weekly chore re-painting the pipes and box. I looked at the Predator system but was advised by a guy called David Lambeth who supplies a range of after market parts for XT's to fit the Motad and Arrows, I voiced my concern to him about noise as it is a race can but he said it would'nt be too bad and he's right it's not offensive, louder sure but deeper and it fit's a treat. He supplied it for just under £300 and it probably weighs half what the original does.
Lambeths got a shop on ebay page No. 370074567903
Cheers Rob.
That is the one I have got (
Arrow 72034PD) and it is a nice barky pipe for traffic (let them know you are there) without upsetting the public. The old boys look round thinking its and old british bike sometimes.

Hi guys. I just put a brand new
Arrow pipe on my WR 426 and couldn't be happier. Huge power increase over the stock pipe and sounds great.

ok...i am very interrested in this exhaust...but i cant find anywhere to get it.
Thanks.

That's Arrow USA (Fast Freddie) in Vegas
They'll either sell you one (that's where I've purchased mine in the past) or they'll tell you where you can. Arrow is very well made, but it ain't cheap.

I have been looking for someone who sells arrow in this country, (USA), but have only found Europeon websites. But from what I understand, it is primarily 2 stroke??? Maybe some of the guys in England that use this site can shed some light on the subject.
PMAUST07
I had a thread about this on the WR side. I did quite abit of checking on the Arrow system. From the feed back I got from some of the EURO guys it may not be the exactly what we are looking for quiet yet efficient. The feed back I got was that it wasn't all that quiet. I have the White Brothers on my WR and at least I can remove disk to quiet it down. In that sense as in others the WB is a good option for the WR since you can also add disk when sound isn't such an issue and get pretty good results in power curve. Now, I am looking for a good option for my DRZS. I'm sure that I can do better than stock but don't want it too loud as I ride it on the street almost daily. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Paul.

I have a race core
Supertrapp, and it's very loud...but gives good power. I made the link pipe....and the frame brace as it's a '92.

Hey guys. I'm considering ditching the supertrapp and puting the stock pipe back on. I really hate to lose any power but I'm getting a little tired of the noise.Although, If the loss is very significant, I choose the noise. Right now I'm running the dj 160, topless air box, and k&n. I'm very pleased with the power. It clutches up in 2nd with ease and has the power to click 3rd and 4th without setting it down with a 16t cs. If I put the stock pipe on will I be dissapointed with it? I would really appreciate any feedback from people who went both routes.

I have the same set up (but 15 tooth front) and was thinking of doing the exact same thing. The roads I ride are back country with mostly farm fields (but also farm houses). I don't really like to draw attention to myself when I'm riding because I'm usually doing something illegal. Also riding around town, everyone knows in a few block radius that I'm pulling up a wheelie or even getting on the gas hard. I think the low end power could be better with the stock pipe, but horse power is going to drop...let me know if you do it.
------------------------------------------------------
fendermon
It's possible to quiet one...no really!
A) Use the quiet core
B) Run 5 or 6 disks. I actually didn't like 5 or 6, so I used 5 and drilled a small hole in the end plate to get a middle setting.
C) Ditch the big gaping hole they call an end cap for a down turned one (don't know where to get one offhand..but I have one.)
D) Stuff a small (4 inch) off-the shelf exhaust pipe in the end to really point the exhaust down.
Amaze all the cool kids with a light AND mostly quiet Supertrapp which still can breath. -Dale

i also hated the trapp and went back to the stocker.
still runs pretty good. the airbox is modded and i put the dj kit in with a 160? not sure. have a dry k&n filter {fabric?} that helped alot but i only ride 2-3 dual sports a year.
bottom end is still good and really QUIET.
but the NCWR dual sport on 90/10 scorpions and a wrong turn forced my hand and wallet {i went down hard and broke stuff:applause: :usa: }and i finally broke down and got a fmf q 2 for the beast, should run TITS after that.
the weight is my only issue with the stocker.
i use mine for commuting and my monday cycle therapy rides.
good luck.

I ditched the Supertrap and put the stocker back on and was amazed how I did not notice any power loss at all
Sure sounds better now, noisy bikes SUCK

A few years ago I toyed around with disks on my Supertrapp Quiet(?)core IDS. What a waste of money. First of all, I believe it came with 12 disks (can't recall exactly), but even with 4 disks it was obnoxiously loud. With my seat of the pants' dyno I never noticed any difference, and if there was any it was up in the RPM range. I didn't dare to use it because it made waaaaay too much noise.
Second, within a few thousand miles the packing started to fall apart making the Supertrapp even more louder. I repacked it a few times but never was satisfied with it.
I cannot recommend that exhaust.
On my current DR I have a streetlegal very quiet but low pithed "thumb thumb"
Marving Exhaust. No more typical "wet farts" but a quiet healthy sound. It weighs half as much as the stocker, is a lot smaller, and has a Euro-6 approval. Much better.

I've never heard of that one. Can you get it in the US? Do you have a link?
I'm also concerned about sound with the stock pipe. I really thought it sounded lame in stock form. Does it have a healthier groan with the the air box mod, dj, and stock pipe.
Thanks for all the good feedback.

I am back to the stock over the winter. When I got my bike, I did the airbox and jetting first then added the supertrapp, then I ground the header weld (all a few months apart). The S/T seemed to make it more "rideable" cranking thru the gears faster, but of the jetting, piping and grinding I think the pipe did the least (it sure sounds fast though). I don't think the loss from going back to stock will be that big. I have a 170 in there now with 8 discs. I plan on going to a 160 when I go back to the stock.
Like Biggsquid said, no need to draw attention. I also ride slower in the morning, due to the louder exhaust. I ride thru a lot of country intersections with the houses right on the road. No way they could sleep thru a serious gassing with the supertrapp on there

I have swapped between stock and a Racer T I got off Ebay at least 5 times now. I hate extra attention from the noise, but the bike has so much more low end grunt with the Racer T. I've gone through a bunch of those steel wool donut exhaust gasket doohickeys, $15 bucks a piece. I try to stay off the gas around the neighbors houses and such. Felt bad last week, went past a horse and backed off so as not to scare the animal, but the bike backfired and scared the crap out of it anyway.

My aftermarket exaust came with the 98 650 when I bought it. No name on it but it appears to be an older model Supertrapp running 10 disk. The outlet tip is a flat cup with a downturned spout coming out of the middle. It is too loud so I saw a "exaust tip" at Discount auto that is the right size and has a outer packing, glaspak like. It's only about 4" long and $20. Removing the outlet tip made the Trapp quite a bit louder. Installing the Discount tip improved the sound nicely from a Brrapp to a Brupp but louder than the origional Trapp. I tried a variely of things handily available by just holding them in place by hand and revving the engine. The Trapp tip did reduce the sound level a good deal but with a considerable back pressure. Tried 2 liter bottle with holes in it, flat metal cut in propeller shape, length of hose stuck inside etc. Not much sound dampening but some with high backpressure and bye the bye holding that crap in your hand, it gets hot fast. The one try that was quite successful was an old heater core. It was 2' thick with passages for air between the core just like a radiator. Very low backpressure and a very noticable noise reduction. Cut a plug with a hole saw, drove it in, it worked good for 5 miles then spit it out. Remade another with a lip to hold it in, lasted 10 miles. Job is too hot for copper. I am still trying but steel or some heat resistant material is going to be next.

I put the stock anchor back on today. I think I like the way it sounds with the airbox top cut out. It's quiet but has a healthy groan sound coming from the airbox. I'm going to drop down on the jet size and give her a try this weekend. I feel like I'm taking a step backwards but I'm sure the neighbors would appreciate it. Maby now I don't have to worry so much every time I wheelie. :busted:

CZRI just put on the
CZR kit that i bought off Ebay. It fit nicely, looks to be made well, but is LOUD. It's no louder than all the Harleys with straight pipes that run around by me but where noise is a concern this is not the exhaust for you. I like the "loud pipes save's lives" approach so I'm cool with it. What a difference in air flow compared to the stock can. Should help in the power output over factory. Won't know until spring when the snow melts.

MRD Racing.warnekedesign.com/mrd-racing/index.phpWhen I bought my 2006 YZ450F, it came with the stock exhaust. That simply will not do. After an exhaustive session of online research, I ended up going to MRD Racing for their stainless steel PROCOMP full exhaust system with spark arrestor for just over $400.
Reading forums revealed that the pipe people own is the “best pipe out there”. Because of the desert terrain and technical trails I choose to ride, this is what sealed the deal:
MRD pipes are designed for durability as well as performance. We utilize thicker gauge material in damage prone areas like head pipe, mount section, and muffler canister. If your pipe fails or is damaged in a crash, MRD will fix it free of charge.
It was also the best priced for a full system. I have no interest in titanium or any other bling material for a pipe that could bounce off a rock or two. Stainless has my name written all over it. With the best price and the best warranty, the decision was easy.
SIDEBAR: I called MRD Racing and the owner/janitor answered the phone. See, I personally like this. Try that with Yoshimura… He told me about the pipe, the warranty, some jetting recommendations if necessary, and the lead time. For me, I took comfort in talking to the guy who was cutting, bending, and welding the pipe together. END SIDEBAR.
The system installed easily, as expected. Its an interference fit, with no clamp needed. This is good overall, but makes disassembly a little bit of a biatch because the two pipes do not want to come apart.
The sound of an opened up thumper is such a sweet, sweet song. I didn’t have to change the jetting at all. Honestly speaking, I do not know the performance gain because I made a few mods at the same time, but the bike is strong.
I don’t have any dyno data or tech specs to support any performance improvements. The bottom line is that I like the pipe. Period. Its a great value with an excellent warranty (which I hope I’ll never need).
THE GOOD:
Best priced system out there.
Best warranty out there.
Awesome sound.
Likely performance gain (heh).
Excellent service.
THE BAD:
Separating the header from the muffler is difficult.
jmart233
Thanks to Dave at MRD-Racing. He can build one mean pipe. You can not beat the craftsmanship on his pipes.
DH367 (Dave from MRD)
thanks, glad you got it , a few guys have been waiting for thier pipes , I shipped 4 pipes yesterday because USPS was closed for the hoilidays and added another day for G. Ford recognition day :banghead: , hopefully they get thier stuff tomorrow.
jmart233
The pipe sounds awesome, makes a nice meaty sound. The yellowing of the stainless looks sweet after the head pipe gets hot too.

So I've already got an MRD exhaust on order for my crf450x and can't wait for it to arrive. I've read pretty much nothing but great things about this system's performance, quality, warranty etc. on various forums but wanted to hear RDC'ers expereinces with it while I wait.
So if you've got one or know someone that does I'd like to hear your take! Thanks.
dirtdudeaz
Cant beat the price, and the way he backs his product up!
motoman29
I know a bunch of guys who have MRD's and have not heard anything but the best.

Dave at MRD is a quality guy. He builds a quality product.
There is a reason he is so busy.
You will be more than happy with your purchase.

Thanks, I did hours and hours of research to find/decide what system I liked best and everything pointed towards MRD. The warranty, price, and optional custom work he offers were big a plus.
Has anyone tried the new MRD exhaust for the DRZ 400 sm? Thumpertalk gives rave reviews about the manufacturing of them but I want to hear from someone who bought, assembled, jetted, and then rode the heck out of one! The dyno's listed on Thumpertalk are from Eddie (engine guru) on a bike that appears to have many thousands of dollars in motor upgrades. I am in the market for a full exhaust system for my 2007 DRZ which has the 3x3 and JD jet kit, but not much more as of yet.
Any help would be great before I spend $430.00.
Hey dude thAt ssw/mrd is the best bang for you buck man! Power gains canAlmost double over the yoshimura rs-2 for the price why wouldn't you? Hand crafted by the one And only dave. Have got mine yet but soon. I wouldn't think twice.
its the best money can buy with the exception of the yosh TI system (which is not available anymore).... and the quality from the one i saw was flawless.
anyone who purchases one of these pipes will be very happy with it. the welds are great and they look cool too and it all comeswith the best warranty around.
I love mine on my 450X. this is coming from a FMF powerbomb/Q2 setup before, to the MRD. wouldn't change it if i was given another pipe. there are no down sides to ordering from dave.
For sure this is the pipe of choice, if you ask me. The mrd/ssw makes the same power and cost a ton less. Besides what's a pound weight differance compaired to $300 more.
Dave, thank YOU! This is seriously the best pipe I've ever bought!! I have to say that it was a total joy to install! Every bolt line up perfectly, and there wasn't one clearance issue!!
Couple Questions.
1: Turn around time. ie: How long from order placement to shipped to your Door
2: Shipping to Canada ? Is it possible and who are you shipping threw UPS and FEDEX Charge a FORTUNE for customs Can you ship USPS?
3: Shipping costs to Ontario Canada, Postal N2L 5P5

PredatorMy 02 came to me with a full stainless
Predator system. Seals fine, but is a little on the noisy side. Not offensively so (to me...), but is louder than standard. Has apparently sailed through the MOT test last two times, will see what my tester has to say. It is all BS stamped.
It feels a touch lumpy / surgy below 3000 rpm, but not badly so.
Hangs a little low from the top silencer mounts, but doesn't get too close to the side panel. Looks like it will last for ever, and from me, it's recommended.
I have the
Predator full stainless system (road legal) on my 2003 XT. I am not bothered about performance or weight saving, just wanted to have a rust fee alternative to the original system which is a rusty pile of crap. It sounds and looks miles better than the original and I was amazed at how heavy the original system was when I removed it. I would not get to excited about weight saving and performance on the XT as that is not what the old thumper is about, if I wanted that I would buy a cr250 or somehing like. The predator system is really nice and well worth the money, I do think I need to sort out the jetting though because she does tend to backfire sometimes.

I have fitted
Lazer Pro'duro cans with Motad downpipes on both my 1988 3AJ Tenere and my partners 1991 XT600E. Both have been heavily loaded with all our gear for our big trip, with their standard rear shocks set to max preload and both have rear caliper shaped dents in the underside of their silencers.

Micron (Website doesn't show a listing for the XT600E)
NOT good. Hello again,
Both my, and a friends Tenere came to us with
Micron exhaust systems fitted to them, and we both disliked them for the followqing reasons:
Never managed to get the down pipes to seal properly to the silencer
Very loud
Silencer got very hot, melted side panel
Poor engine running
When I replaced mine with the
Laser Pro-dura with motad down pipes my bike ran much better and the occasional loss of power problems disappeared.
It may be that re-jettimg the carbs would have helped, but it would still be very loud for a long journey, and a pig to (almost) seal.
Mark
My can is a
Micron, and that has a nice bark to it. Not too loud, but with a nice edge when you open it up. If I take the pretty way home from work, I go under a railway bridge. I always open it up fully while passing under the bridge - only for a moment, but it sounds like a Proper British Motorbike too. Blat, blat, duff, duff.

Hello All,
i had a
Micron system on my honda XL a few years back, was ok apart from a mounting bracket in the wrong place and the silencer internals collapsing after a few years use.
I plan to get a Quill system for my 03 XT when funds allow.
